After several months of living in her car, Alison Bell entered Primavera’s Casa Paloma emergency women’s shelter in September 2025 determined to rebuild her life. With support from her Resource Specialist, she worked toward stability by saving money, taking budgeting and career classes, and preparing for permanent housing. Alison soon qualified for Transitional Housing and was approved for an apartment within nine days, moving into her new home on New Year’s Day.

“Casa Paloma provides a safe, clean, respectful environment to give homeless struggling women the opportunity to create a new life and transition out of homelessness,” Alison said.

Primavera Foundation will join hundreds of other organizations, including nonprofits, university departments, independent booksellers, and more, at The Tucson Festival of Books. Stop by Booth 226 at the University of Arizona Mall to learn more about our programs, job openings, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support our work through donations.

The festival runs  9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., March 14–15, and entry is free. Come say hi, meet our team, and find out how you can get involved with Primavera and make an impact in our community.

The Primavera Foundation is grateful to Voyager Community Chapel for its generous contribution of $22,551 this February. This meaningful gift will help support Primavera’s mission to co-create pathways out of poverty and expand access to critical services for individuals and families in Tucson.

Voyager Community Chapel has served Tucson residents and visitors since 1984 and has been a vital supporter of The Primavera Foundation for decades. The congregation’s continued generosity reflects a deep commitment to strengthening the local community and supporting people experiencing housing insecurity and poverty.

This year’s contribution will help sustain Primavera’s programs and support initiatives focused on shelters and drop-in centers.

Longtime Tucson residents Nigel Brooks and John Kovacik are turning their passion for civic engagement into real impact for our community. Through Friends of Ward 3, they’ve supported The Primavera Foundation with fundraising, hygiene kit drives, clothing donations, and creative partnerships — including a successful donation box at a local Starbucks benefiting STAR Village.

What started with a small gift quickly grew into a meaningful partnership rooted in strengthening neighborhoods and supporting residents who need it most. Their story is a powerful reminder that even small acts of generosity can create lasting change.

The Primavera Foundation was honored to join the community at Jacob’s 3rd Angelversary at Udall Park. What began as a goal of 500 pairs of socks turned into an incredible 4,120+ pairs collected to support our Homelessness, Intervention & Prevention (HIP) Program.

We are deeply grateful to Jacob's Loving Heart for continuing Jacob’s mission to “do a good thing daily for someone else.”

Recently, federal food assistance programs have been challenged, food prices are rising, and the need for food assistance across the community is growing.

Join us in our efforts to provide essential meals to those we serve.

Your food donations will support participants staying in our shelters and taking part in Primavera programs, including individuals, families, veterans, and seniors.

How can you help? 

Most needed non-perishable items include: Canned protein, rice, pasta, cereal, peanut butter, canned fruits & vegetables, and snacks.
