Mobile Outreach: Meeting individuals where they are |
Primavera's Mobile Outreach program launched this spring with a goal of meeting unhoused individuals where they are. The Primavera Outreach team brings supplies and resources out to individuals in the field and connects them with housing and supportive services.
When available, the team may provide backpacks, tents and sleeping bags as well as snacks, water, pet food and hygiene kits. The team also connects participants with the Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (HIP) Drop-In Center, where they may receive help with mail service, supplies and housing related services.
The team may also transport individuals to medical or substance abuse services, to obtain ID's and to other community locations for services. |

Paradise Motel to offer new housing options |
Primavera Foundation completed the purchase of Paradise Motel last month. With this new property, Primavera will be provide 41 short stay housing units in a self-sustaining, inclusive community that will be open to individuals and families.

Primavera shares impact of survey with City of South Tucson Mayor and Council |
At the April 2 City of South Tucson Mayor and Council Meeting, Primavera Foundation CEO Tisha Tallman spoke about the NeighborWorks Association Community Impact Measurement (CIM) Survey.
The survey, conducted every three years, measures resident sentiment on services, safety and community involvement. Primavera conducted the survey in 2013, 2016 and 2019 and will be administering it again in 2024. |

Agencies prioritize rights restoration and re-entry programs |
Primavera Foundation and Old Pueblo Community Services (OPCS) hosted a discussion on rights restoration and re-entry services at Primavera Foundation last month. It is the second such co-convening, which aims to identify steps to improve support for those in need. Primavera Foundation Chief Community Resilience Officer Tamara Prime led the discussion, in which more than 15 representatives from nine organizations took part.
Those in attendance identified continued challenges finding affordable housing, lack of support within transitional housing, a lack of peer support within the re-entry system and too many “silos” between like-minded organizations. This was the second co-convening of 2024. Another one on housing was held May 14. A home ownership co-convening will follow. Primavera CEO Tisha Tallman has been appointed to the National NeighborWorks Association (NNA) Board. The NNA is the trade association for NeighborWorks chartered organizations. In 2023, NNA represented 239 organizations, 237 NeighborWorks organizations, in addition to two capital corporations located across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. NNA champions advocacy for funding and sound policies while serving as the voice of the NeighborWorks organization network, ensuring the concerns, needs, and recommendations of members are conveyed to NeighborWorks America.

| Primavera Foundation CEO Tisha Tallman and Chief Community Resilience Officer Tamara Prime attended National NeighborWorks Association (NNA) Legislative Day in Washington, D.C. on April 10. In addition to presenting and meeting with fellow NeighborWorks member organizations, they met with elected officials, including Rep. Juan Ciscomani, to share Primavera's story and advocate for increased funding to deepen our impact. While in D.C., Tallman and Prime also attended a NeighborWorks Executive Symposium, where Tallman presented on Information Systems Operations Management. |

A reimagined Cooks! is Primavera's first of three 2024 fundraising events! |

The 2024 Primavera Cooks! Summer Dining Series is launching this month with two new Studio Janos dining experiences on May 31 and June 1.
In addition to dining, the Studio Janos experience includes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to apprentice alongside Chef Janos Wilder, including preparing the menu and cooking at the dinners.
Following a jam-packed summer season, Primavera will host its inaugural golf tournament on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Omni Tucson National Resort's Sonoran Course. Join Primavera for a day of community on the greens in support of a myriad of Primavera services. Additionally, watch for details on Primavera's first-ever 5K Walk/Run.

City of Tucson launches the People, Communities, and Homes Investment Plan survey |
Primavera is seeking individuals to take part in the People, Communities, and Homes Investment Plan (P-CHIP) survey.
P-CHIP identifies priorities eligible for support from federal and local funding sources administered by the City of Tucson Housing and Community Development Department. The funding benefits homeless services, housing stability, neighborhood enhancements – issues that align with Primavera's mission. Those who take the survey may identify and prioritize Tucson's biggest challenges regarding creating equitable access to opportunity and what should be funded to address those challenges.

Primavera forges new partnership with SBHIS Insurance Services |
Primavera is hosting SBHIS Insurance Services at its Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (HIP) Drop-In Center each Wednesday. SBHIS Insurance Services helps people navigate Medicare and related services, including holding monthly educational classes for seniors. Primavera Foundation is grateful to the staff at SBHIS for services as well as donations of bread and produce for the participants at the HIP Drop-In Center. Their services will be tapering down to once a month.
