Primavera Foundation
A generous gift is helping Casa Paloma take a step toward a more sustainable future.
In March, an anonymous donor contributed $40,000 toward the installation of solar panels at Casa Paloma, Primavera Foundation’s shelter for women. The gift came from a donor passionate about both Primavera’s work and the potential of solar energy to make a lasting difference.
The idea began with a simple question. The donor reached out to Primavera interested in making a stock donation and asked whether their gift could help support residential solar at one of Primavera’s buildings.
“I am interested in orchestrating a stock donation to The Primavera Foundation, but I’m particularly interested in supporting, if possible, the installation of solar, residential solar on any of your buildings and I wonder if that’s even possible to do, to direct a donation in that regard.”
To help determine where solar could have the greatest impact, Primavera connected with Solar United Neighbors, a nonprofit organization that provides solar guidance and consulting. After evaluating the solar potential of Primavera’s properties, Casa Paloma was identified as an opportunity to put the donor’s vision into action.
Net Zero Solar installed the new solar panels at Casa Paloma, helping the shelter reduce its reliance on traditional energy sources and lower the costs associated with energy use.
For Casa Paloma, the donation represents more than an investment in solar technology. By helping reduce ongoing energy expenses, the gift can support Primavera’s ability to dedicate more resources to its mission and the women it serves.
It is a meaningful example of how a donor’s passion can become a lasting investment in Primavera’s work — creating impact not only through a generous gift today, but through savings and sustainability for years to come.
