Primavera Foundation would like to clarify that it will not be prematurely shutting down the one-year pilot program for unsheltered women called STAR Village.
The safe sleep space, designed as a harm-reduction, trauma-informed refuge for women, is one-third of the way through and by all accounts is a successful model that has allowed women to be placed in shelter, housing, receive services, and be a part of community.
Primavera will continue to run STAR Village throughout the entirety of the project.
This pilot was created to test this model and its viability long-term. This has been the intention of STAR from the very beginning. Following the pilot, there is interest in the project or similar versions continuing. Those conversations are ongoing.
Primavera will continue to support this and other community efforts and projects to address the affordable housing crisis. Primavera is extremely grateful to those who support us through volunteering, and monetary and in-kind donations.
